INTRODUCTION
There is a clear spiritual reality revealed in Scripture:
God has children who do His will, and the devil also has “children”; agents, systems, and people who choose to operate under darkness, opposition, deceit, and destruction.
Jesus declared plainly in John 10:10 that “the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.”
This reveals one thing: evil has an agenda.
But glory to God; believers are not powerless.
We are equipped with divine authority to discern, resist, and destroy the works of darkness (1 John 3:8).
This sermon will show:
Who the “children of the devil” are (biblically)
Their characteristics
How their plans operate
How believers can destroy their works
What spiritual weapons guarantee victory
SECTION 1: WHO ARE THE “CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL”?
Biblically, “children of the devil” are not a biological description but a spiritual alignment.
They are those who:
Love darkness rather than light (John 3:19)
Oppose the Gospel (Acts 13:8)
Operate in deceit and manipulation
Resist God’s purpose for His people
Pursue wickedness as a lifestyle
Hate truth and righteousness
Desire destruction rather than edification
In Acts 13:8–10, Paul confronted Elymas the sorcerer who resisted the Gospel and attempted to turn a leader away from the faith.
Paul boldly said to him:
“You son of the devil, full of deceit and fraud…”
So, Scripture clearly recognizes that there are people who willingly align with Satanic intentions.
SECTION 2: CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL (10 POINTS)
They Oppose the Truth (Acts 13:8)
They Manipulate and Deceive
They Attack God’s Servants (Acts 23:12)
They Plot Destruction in Secret
They Stir Up Confusion and Division
They Hate Righteousness and Order
They Operate With Boldness in Evil
They Resist the Progress of God’s Work
They Use Lies as Weapons (John 8:44)
They Can Appear Religious While Serving Darkness (2 Tim. 3:5)
SECTION 3: BIBLE CASE STUDIES
1. Paul Before the Council (Acts 23:1–2, 12)
Paul was standing in righteousness
Yet he was struck unlawfully
A conspiracy later arose: 40 men bound themselves under a curse to kill Paul
Lesson:
Evil conspiracies are real. Righteousness does not exempt you from being targeted.
But every conspiracy collapses under God’s sovereignty.
2. Paul vs. Elymas the Sorcerer (Acts 13:1–11)
Elymas opposed the preaching of the Gospel
He tried to turn a leader away from truth
Paul, filled with the Holy Ghost, judged him
Elymas became blind for a season
The leader believed the Gospel
Lesson:
When darkness is confronted, its power collapses.
Divine authority always surpasses demonic manipulation.
3. The Thief’s Agenda (John 10:10)
Jesus revealed the three-fold agenda of the enemy:
Steal – blessings, joy, destiny, purpose
Kill – influence, spiritual fire, opportunities
Destroy – everything good God is establishing
But Jesus ends with victory:
“I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.”
SECTION 4: 10 BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES FOR DESTROYING THE PLANS OF THE ENEMY
To enforce Christ’s victory (1 John 3:8)
To stop the agenda of darkness (Luke 10:19)
To protect God’s destiny for your life (Jer. 1:19)
To silence demonic oppositions (Ps. 18:44–45)
To pull down strongholds (2 Cor. 10:4–5)
To establish God’s will on earth (Matt. 6:10)
To frustrate evil conspiracies (Job 5:12)
To defend the Gospel (Phil. 1:7)
To reclaim stolen blessings (Joel 2:25)
To walk in dominion (Gen. 1:26)
SECTION 5: TWO ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Man Who Ignored the Warning
A man kept having promptings from the Holy Spirit to avoid a certain partnership, but he ignored it. Later, the partner betrayed him, causing major setbacks.
Lesson:
One major way to destroy the plans of the enemy is obedience to the Holy Spirit.
Ignoring divine warnings gives the enemy room.
2. The Woman Who Prayed Ahead
A woman prayed daily for her children. One day, a teacher reported a strange pattern of bullying targeted at her child.
Unknown to them, earlier prayers had already dismantled a deeper, unseen setup.
Lesson:
Prayer is preventative warfare.
Victory is often won before battles manifest.
SECTION 6: HOW TO DESTROY THE PLANS OF THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL
Stand in Righteousness
Be Filled with the Holy Spirit
Use the Word of God as a weapon
War in prayer and fasting
Disarm deception with truth
Walk in discernment
Declare prophetic judgment on evil operations
Break covenants and negative cycles
Cover yourself and family with the blood of Jesus
Walk in kingdom authority
SECTION 7: CALL TO REPENTANCE
If you have opened any door through sin, fear, bitterness, disobedience, or carelessness, the enemy may attempt to use it against you.
Return to God today.
DEEP REPENTANCE PRAYER
“Lord Jesus, I return fully to You.
Any door I opened knowingly or unknowingly, I shut by the blood of Jesus.
Cleanse me, restore me, and align my life with Your will.
From today, I walk under divine authority and light. Amen.”
SECTION 8: PRAYER POINTS
(End each prayer with “In Jesus’ Name!”)
Father, expose and disgrace every hidden conspiracy against my life.
Every agent of darkness assigned against my destiny, be arrested by fire.
Powers resisting my progress, collapse now.
I destroy every satanic agenda programmed into my path.
Holy Ghost fire, scatter every household enemy attacking my destiny.
Every satanic monitoring spirit, go blind like Elymas.
O Lord, frustrate every evil vow taken against me.
My star will not be stolen; my glory will not be buried.
Father, restore everything the enemy has stolen from me.
I decree divine protection over my family and destiny.
SECTION 9: 10 REFLECTION SCRIPTURES
1 John 3:8 – Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.
Luke 10:19 – You have authority over all powers of the enemy.
Isaiah 54:17 – No weapon formed against you will prosper.
Job 5:12 – God frustrates evil devices.
Psalm 27:1–3 – Confidence in God eliminates fear of enemies.
2 Cor. 10:4–5 – Spiritual weapons pull down strongholds.
Psalm 18:44–45 – Enemies submit by God’s power.
James 4:7 – Resist the devil and he will flee.
Romans 16:20 – God will crush Satan under your feet.
Ephesians 6:10–12 – A reminder of the spiritual nature of warfare.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Identify one area where the enemy has been resisting you.
Speak God’s Word over that area for the next 7 days.
Watch God dismantle the works of darkness.
DEEP REFLECTION
Where have I allowed fear, sin, or unbelief to empower the enemy?
What steps will I take today to reclaim my spiritual authority?
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
You are not a victim.
You are a victor.
Christ in you is greater than every agenda of darkness.
Walk boldly in the authority of Jesus Christ.
