CONNECTING TO GOD’S AGENDA

Text: Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (KJV)

1. INTRODUCTION: WHY GOD’S AGENDA MATTERS

One of the greatest frustrations of life is working hard but working outside God’s plan. Many people are busy, gifted, prayerful, even religious, yet disconnected from what God is actually doing.

God does not merely have ideas; He has an agenda.
And destiny is fulfilled when human alignment meets divine intention.

Jeremiah 29:11 reveals:

The tragedy is not lack of prayer, it is misalignment.

2. WHAT IS GOD’S AGENDA?

Definition

God’s agenda is His eternal, sovereign plan for:

Isaiah 46:10

“My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.”

Ephesians 1:11

“According to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will.”

God’s agenda is:

1. Personal Agenda Competes with God’s Agenda

Proverbs 14:12

2. Impatience with God’s Timing

Habakkuk 2:3

3. Lack of Spiritual Sensitivity

Amos 3:7

4. Fear of Surrender

Luke 9:23

THE CAPABILITIES AND NECESSITY OF PRAISING AND WORSHIPPING GOD

Text: 2 Chronicles 20:1–30

1. INTRODUCTION

Praising and worshipping God is not a religious routine; it is a spiritual weapon, a covenantal response, and a divine strategy ordained by God for victorious living.
In 2 Chronicles 20, Judah faced a national crisis, an overwhelming coalition of enemies. No military advantage, no political leverage, only God.

Yet, through praise and worship, God gave Judah total victory without physical combat.

This account reveals what praise can do and why worship is indispensable for believers.

“The battle is not yours, but God’s.” – 2 Chronicles 20:15

2. BACKGROUND OF 2 CHRONICLES 20:1–30

Jehoshaphat’s response:

  1. Fear acknowledged (v.3)

  2. Prayer initiated

  3. Fasting proclaimed

  4. Praise and worship institutionalized

This combination released divine intervention.

3. DEFINING PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Praise

“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.”Psalm 150:6

Worship

  • Deep reverence and surrender to God’s person and authority

  • Hebrew word:

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”John 4:24

“We have no power… nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” – v.12

Praise realigns spiritual vision.

God’s strategy came after prayer and worship:

  • Do not fight

  • Stand still

  • Watch God work

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.”Psalm 32:8

They praised before victory, not after.

“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes…” – v.22

Judah returned with joy, not fear.

“The realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.” – v.30

5. THE CAPABILITIES OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP

(What Praise and Worship Can Do)

1. Praise Confuses and Defeats Enemies

The LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir.” – v.22

Enemies destroyed themselves.

2. Praise Provokes Supernatural Intervention

No sword was lifted, yet victory was complete.

POWER TO OPERATE IN THE FAVOUR OF GOD

THE WORDS OF TRUTH WEEKLY DIGEST

POWER TO OPERATE IN THE FAVOUR OF GOD

Anchor Texts:
Esther 2 | Luke 2:51–52 | Psalm 41:11; Psalm 102:13; Psalm 127:1

INTRODUCTION

Favour is the divine advantage God grants a person to experience acceptance, help, promotion, protection, and success beyond natural effort. While grace saves us, favour positions us. Many are gifted but stranded; skilled but stuck; qualified but rejected. What makes the difference is the power to operate in God’s favour.

Favour is not accidental, it is provoked, sustained, and stewarded by alignment with God’s purpose, character, and timing.

Psalm 127:1“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.”

KEY SCRIPTURES EXPOUNDED

1. Esther 2 – The Systemic Operation of Favour

Esther 2:15–17

“…Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her… and the king loved Esther above all the women.”

Lessons from Esther’s Life

  1. Favour can locate you in obscurity (Esther was an orphan).

  2. Favour responds to preparation (Esther submitted to training).

  3. Favour works through obedience (she listened to Mordecai).

  4. Favour opens restricted doors (she accessed the king).

  5. Favour positions you for destiny influence, not comfort alone.

Esther did not fight for the throne; favour fought for her.

Proverbs 3:3–4“…so shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.”

2. Luke 2:51–52 – Favour Grows

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

Revelations

  • Favour is progressive, not static.

  • Even Jesus grew in favour.

  • Favour flows through submission and discipline.

Four Dimensions of Growth

  1. Wisdom – knowing what to do

  2. Stature – capacity and maturity

  3. Favour with God – divine approval

  4. Favour with men – human acceptance

You can pray for favour, but you must also grow for it.

Daniel 1:9“Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love…”

3. Psalm 41:11 – Favour as Victory Confirmation

“By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.”

Truths

  • Favour is evident when your enemies fail.

  • Favour does not mean absence of opposition.

  • Favour ensures you are not disgraced.

Isaiah 54:17“No weapon formed against thee shall prosper…”

4. Psalm 102:13 – Favour Has a Set Time

“…the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”

Key Insights

If you miss God’s timing, you may labour without results.

Ecclesiastes 3:1“To everything there is a season…”

5. Psalm 127:1 – Favour Requires Divine Partnership

“Except the LORD build the house…”

Revelation

Zechariah 4:6“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit…”

HOW TO OPERATE IN GOD’S FAVOUR

  4. Preservation in adversity (Psalm 5:12)

  5. Divine remembrance (Nehemiah 5:19)

  9. I will not labour in vain; divine partnership works for me, in Jesus’ name.

  10. Let my life become a testimony of favour before God and men, in Jesus’ name.

I am wrapped in divine favour.
Doors open for me effortlessly.
My enemies will not triumph over me.
My set time for favour has come.
The Lord builds my house.
I operate permanently in the favour of God,
in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

FINAL CHARGE

Favour is not luck, it is alignment. When God is involved, struggle expires. When favour speaks, labour rests.

Psalm 5:12“For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”

PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING: THE FOOD OF GOD

THE WORDS OF TRUTH WEEKLY DIGEST

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼
PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING: THE FOOD OF GOD

KEY TEXTS

INTRODUCTION

Food sustains life. Every living thing requires nourishment to function, grow, and remain active. Spiritually speaking, God has chosen praise and thanksgiving as what delights Him, attracts His presence, and activates His power.

God does not eat physical food like man, yet Scripture repeatedly reveals that praise and thanksgiving minister to Him. When God is “fed” with praise, He responds with His presence, power, and intervention.

Psalm 22:3But Thou art holy, O Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.”

Praise is not merely what we do; it is a spiritual environment where God chooses to dwell.

SECTION ONE: PRAISE AS A LIFESTYLE (Psalm 34:1–4)

“I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1)

Key Truths from Psalm 34

  1. Praise is intentional“I will bless the Lord…”

  2. Praise is perpetual“at all times”

  3. Praise is vocal“continually be in my mouth”

  4. Praise attracts deliverance“I sought the Lord, and He heard me…”

David did not say when things are good. He praised during pressure, persecution, and pursuit.

Spiritual Insight

Complaining magnifies problems; praise magnifies God.

SECTION TWO: THANKSGIVING AS A COVENANT TRIGGER (Psalm 136:1–26)

Psalm 136 is unique because every verse ends with the same declaration:

For His mercy endureth forever.”

What This Psalm Teaches

  1. Thanksgiving reminds God’s people of His acts

  2. Thanksgiving establishes continuity of divine mercy

  3. Thanksgiving keeps covenant consciousness alive

God does not forget His works, but thanksgiving causes men to remember God’s faithfulness.

Why Repetition Matters

  • God wants thanksgiving to be deliberate and sustained

  • Gratitude aligns the heart with God’s eternal nature

  • Mercy flows where thanksgiving is practiced

Thanksgiving is faith acknowledging what God has done, while trusting Him for what He will do.

SECTION THREE: PRAISE THAT BREAKS CHAINS (Acts 16:23–27)

Paul and Silas were:

Yet the Bible says:

“At midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God…” (Acts 16:25)

The Result

Key Revelation

Praise does not ignore pain; it overrules it.

They did not sing for deliverance; they sang because God is worthy, and deliverance followed.

When praise ascends, divine intervention descends.

WHY PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING ARE CALLED “THE FOOD OF GOD”

  1. God inhabits praise (Psalm 22:3)

  2. Praise enthrones God in our circumstances

  3. Thanksgiving sustains divine presence

  4. Praise releases heaven’s authority

  5. Praise shifts spiritual atmospheres

Just as food strengthens the body, praise strengthens the manifestation of God’s power among His people.

ILLUSTRATION

THE ALTAR PRINCIPLE

In the Old Testament, sacrifices were called a sweet-smelling savor unto the Lord.”
Today, praise and thanksgiving have replaced animal sacrifices.

Hebrews 13:15“By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually…”

Praise is not cheap, it is often costly, especially when offered in pain.

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

  1. Praise God before the answer comes

  2. Thank God even when the process is unclear

  3. Replace murmuring with worship

  4. Turn every complaint into thanksgiving

  5. Build a lifestyle of gratitude

CALL TO HEART CHECK

  • When pressure comes, do you pray or complain?

  • When delay happens, do you praise or panic?

  • When answers seem slow, do you trust or murmur?

Your response determines your atmosphere.

PRAYER POINTS (Pray Slowly and Intentionally)

  1. Father, I thank You for who You are, not only for what You do, in the name of Jesus.

  2. Lord, forgive me for every moment of murmuring and ingratitude, in the name of Jesus.

  3. Let my life become a living altar of praise unto You, in the name of Jesus.

  4. Father, inhabit my praise and take Your rightful place in my life, in the name of Jesus.

  5. Every chain assigned to limit my destiny, break by the power of praise, in the name of Jesus.

  6. Lord, turn my midnight season into a testimony through praise, in the name of Jesus.

  7. By thanksgiving, I activate divine mercy over my life and household, in the name of Jesus.

  8. Let every closed door respond to the sound of praise, in the name of Jesus.

  9. Father, let praise silence every voice of accusation and fear, in the name of Jesus.

  10. I declare that my mouth will continually speak the praise of the Lord, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

I decree and declare:
As I lift praise and thanksgiving unto God, every prison around my life opens, every chain falls, mercy speaks for me, and God is glorified in my situation, in the name of Jesus.

CLOSING WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Praise is not the end of the battle, it is the weapon that ends the battle.
Thanksgiving is not a reaction, it is a spiritual position.

When God is fed with praise, His power is released for your deliverance.

Go and live a life of praise.
