WHAT IS THE BLEATING OF THE SHEEP AND THE LOWING OF THE OXEN IN THE BACKYARD OF YOUR LIFE THAT IS ANNOYING GOD?
MAIN TEXT
KEY VERSE
"And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?"
PROPHETIC INTRODUCTION
There are moments in a believer’s life when God begins to investigate the secret places of the heart.
Everything may appear successful on the outside:
- ministry is growing
- business is prospering
- reputation is strong
- people applaud your achievements
Yet God asks a question that exposes everything:
“What is the bleating of the sheep that I still hear in your life?”
The sheep and oxen Saul kept alive were evidence of hidden rebellion.
They were not supposed to exist.
Yet their voices betrayed Saul's disobedience.
In the same way, there are spiritual noises in the lives of many believers:
- hidden sins
- secret compromises
- ungodly attachments
- unfinished obedience
Those things are bleating before heaven.
And until they are destroyed, they become legal grounds for spiritual oppression.
Today is a call to revival and deliverance.
UNDERSTANDING THE SPIRIT OF AMALEK
The Amalekites represent the persistent enemy of God’s people.
The first time Amalek appeared was in:
They attacked Israel when Israel was weak.
Because of that attack, God pronounced a judgment:
"The Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation."
Amalek represents:
- the flesh
- recurring sin patterns
- spiritual opposition to destiny
God told Saul to destroy Amalek completely because the flesh cannot be negotiated with.
THE SPIRITUAL MEANING OF THE BLEATING
When Samuel arrived, Saul said:
“I have obeyed the Lord.”
But Samuel heard something Saul ignored.
The sheep were bleating.
This means:
Disobedience always has a voice before God.
Even if people cannot hear it, heaven hears it.
THE SEVEN DANGEROUS “SHEEP” THAT BLEAT IN A BELIEVER'S LIFE
These are spiritual strongholds that God commands believers to destroy.
1. The Sheep of Hidden Sin
Secret sins produce spiritual noise.
"If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me."
Hidden sin invites:
2. The Sheep of Compromise
Compromise begins as a small tolerance for wrong.
Soon it becomes a controlling habit.
James 1:15
"Sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death."
3. The Sheep of Unforgiveness
Unforgiveness opens doors for torment.
The unforgiving servant was delivered to tormentors.
Unforgiveness bleats loudly before God.
4. The Sheep of Pride
Saul built a monument to himself.
Pride blinds a person to correction.
5. The Sheep of Fear of People
Saul confessed:
1 Samuel 15:24
"I feared the people and obeyed their voice."
When you fear people more than God, you will compromise obedience.
6. The Sheep of Greed
Saul kept the best animals.
Greed disguises itself as wisdom or opportunity.
But greed is a spiritual snare.
7. The Sheep of Delayed Obedience
God spoke, but Saul delayed the full execution of the command.
Delayed obedience eventually becomes disobedience.
WHY THESE “SHEEP” ATTRACT DEMONIC OPPRESSION
Unfinished obedience creates spiritual legal rights.
Demons often gain access through:
- unrepented sin
- compromise
- rebellion
- pride
That is why many believers experience:
- recurring problems
- spiritual stagnation
- emotional torment
- repeated cycles of defeat
The enemy is responding to what was spared instead of destroyed.
THE TRAGEDY OF SAUL
Saul's story is one of the most tragic in the Bible.
He lost three things:
1. The Presence of God
1 Samuel 16:14
2. His Destiny
God transferred the kingdom to David.
3. His Spiritual Authority
When God's presence leaves, authority disappears.
THE DELIVERANCE PRINCIPLE
Deliverance begins when what God condemned is finally destroyed.
The Apostle Paul explained the solution.
"They that are Christ's have crucified the flesh."
Crucifixion means total destruction.
You cannot negotiate with the flesh.
You must kill it spiritually.
PROPHETIC SIGNS THAT GOD IS CALLING YOU TO REVIVAL
God calls people to revival when:
- Your conscience is disturbed.
- You feel conviction about hidden habits.
- God exposes secret areas of compromise.
- You lose peace about certain relationships.
- The Holy Spirit begins confronting your lifestyle.
Conviction is God's mercy inviting repentance.
STEPS TO SILENCE THE BLEATING
1. Honest Confession
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive."
2. Genuine Repentance
Repentance means:
- turning away
- abandoning sin
- choosing obedience
3. Destroy the Root
Some habits require radical decisions.
Jesus said:
- "If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out."
Meaning: remove whatever causes you to sin.
4. Surrender Completely
Half surrender produces half freedom.
Total surrender brings total deliverance.
PROPHETIC DELIVERANCE PRAYER POINTS
Pray these prayers with seriousness.
1. Father, reveal every hidden sheep still alive in my life, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every Amalekite stronghold in my life, be destroyed by the fire of God, in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord, forgive me for sparing what You commanded me to destroy, in the name of Jesus.
4. Every secret sin speaking against my destiny, be silenced today, in the name of Jesus.
5. Holy Spirit, uproot pride, rebellion, and compromise from my heart, in the name of Jesus.
6. Every legal ground of the enemy in my life, be removed by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
7. Every spiritual chain connected to past disobedience, break now, in the name of Jesus.
8. Lord, restore every blessing I lost because of disobedience, in the name of Jesus.
9. Father, let the fire of revival burn every sinful habit in my life, in the name of Jesus.
10. From today, my life will produce the sound of obedience, not disobedience, in the name of Jesus.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS
Declare boldly:
- Every hidden compromise in my life is destroyed.
- Every voice of sin is silenced.
- The Spirit of God will not depart from me.
- My destiny will not be transferred to another.
- I walk in complete obedience to God.
FINAL REVIVAL CALL
Samuel's question still echoes today:
“What is the bleating of the sheep that I hear?”
The question is not about public success.
It is about private obedience.
When the sheep are finally destroyed:
- heaven becomes open
- prayers become powerful
- destiny becomes secure
- revival begins
