INTRODUCTION

Every human life is a bundle of needs, spoken and unspoken, urgent and delayed, material and spiritual.
The question is not whether we have needs, but:

  • When should we tell God about them?
  • How should we present them?
  • What posture moves heaven?

The Bible consistently reveals God as Jehovah Jireh; the Great Provider, yet Scripture also teaches us timing, posture, and approach in presenting our needs.

The cry Remember me is not a demand, it is a humble appeal to divine mercy, covenant, and compassion.

FOUNDATIONAL TRUTH

God already knows your needs, but He still desires that you tell Him.
Prayer is not information, it is relationship, alignment, and surrender.

I. WHEN SHOULD YOU TELL GOD ABOUT YOUR NEEDS?

1. When the Situation Is Beyond Human Control

📖 Isaiah 38:1–3

King Hezekiah was terminally ill. No prophet, physician, or strategy could reverse it.

“Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall and prayed…”

Lesson:
Tell God when medicine ends, strength fails, and options close.
Your wall-facing prayer attracts divine intervention.

🔑 God specializes in cases labeled “hopeless.”

2. When Time Has Passed but the Promise Remains

📖 Genesis 8:1

“And God remembered Noah…”

Noah had obeyed God, yet remained in the ark long after the rain stopped.

Lesson:
Tell God when obedience seems unrewarded and waiting feels endless.
Divine remembrance often comes after prolonged silence.

🔑 Delay is not denial; it is often preparation.

3. When Your Soul Is Bitter but Your Faith Is Alive

📖 1 Samuel 1:19

Hannah prayed in anguish, not eloquence.

“She poured out her soul before the Lord.”

Lesson:
Tell God when words fail but tears speak.
God responds to honest pain presented in faith.

🔑 Silent lips can still release loud prayers.

4. When God’s Appointed Time Has Come

📖 Genesis 21:1–2

“And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said…”

Sarah’s need existed for decades, but fulfillment arrived at the set time.

Lesson:
Tell God persistently, but trust His calendar.
He is never late, He is precise.

5. When You Encounter Jesus Personally

📖 Mark 1:40–41; Mark 10:51–52

Jesus asked:

“What do you want Me to do for you?”

Lesson:
God values specific prayers.
Vague faith produces vague results.

6. When You Are Broken by Sin, Not Just by Circumstance

📖 Luke 18:13

“God, be merciful to me, a sinner.”

Lesson:
Sometimes the greatest need is for mercy before provision.
Grace precedes blessing.

7. Even at the Edge of Death, It’s Not Too Late

📖 Luke 23:42–43

“Jesus, remember me…”

A dying thief made heaven with one sentence of faith.

Lesson:
It is never too late to tell God your deepest need.
Mercy outruns time.

II. WHOM DO YOU APPROACH FOR YOUR NEED?

  • Not men first
  • Not systems
  • Not connections

📖 Psalm 121:1–2

“My help comes from the Lord…”

Truth:
Men may assist, but God authorizes help.

🔑 Go to God before you go to people.

III. WHOM SHOULD YOU BLAME FOR YOUR NEEDS?

📖 James 1:13

  • Don’t blame God
  • Don’t blame people
  • Don’t blame destiny

Instead:
Take responsibility, seek wisdom, and lean on grace.

🔑 Blame locks doors; repentance opens heavens.

IV. RAISING INTERCESSORS BY MEETING OTHER PEOPLE’S NEEDS

📖 Job 42:10

“And the Lord restored Job… when he prayed for his friends.”

Spiritual Principle:
When you become God’s channel, God becomes your source.

  • Meet a need → Raise a voice
  • Show mercy → Receive mercy
  • Become an answer → Secure intercessors

🔑 Heaven remembers those who remember others.

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. THE PRAYER THAT TURNED THE WALL

Hezekiah turned to the wall, God turned the verdict.

Lesson:
One sincere prayer can rewrite a signed death sentence.

2. THE THIEF’S LAST REQUEST

No offering, no works, just faith.

Lesson:
What grace cannot redeem, nothing can.

HYMN

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

Author: Joseph M. Scriven (1855)

Stanza 1:

What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Where you trusted self instead of God…
Where you murmured instead of praying
Where pride silenced your cry…

Return. Tell God again.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Father, forgive me for carrying burdens You never assigned me to bear.
I repent of silence, self-reliance, and misplaced trust.
Remember me according to Your mercy, not my merit.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

  • Tell God clearly
  • Tell God humbly
  • Tell God persistently
  • Tell God before anyone else

DEEP REFLECTION

  • What have you stopped praying about because of delay?
  • Who are you blaming instead of praying?
  • Whose need can you meet to raise an intercessor?

CLOSING DECLARATION

O Great Provider, remember me!
Remember my faith, my tears, my obedience.
Where I lack, supply.
Where I wait, answer.
Where I am broken, restore.
I will carry everything to God in prayer.
In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
