THE POWER OF THE RIGHT LOCATION!
Bible Texts: Genesis 3:7–11; 1 Samuel 9:2–27; Luke 19:1–5
INTRODUCTION
All through Scripture, destiny is never fulfilled by talent alone, anointing alone, or opportunity alone — location is a destiny determinant.
Where you are decides:
-
What you see
-
What sees you
-
What reaches you
-
What grows in you
-
What dies in you
-
What God can entrust to you
The right location births encounters.
The wrong location births loss, delay, and disconnection.
God Himself places people, elevates people, and changes people by repositioning them.
PART 1: GENESIS 3:7–11 — LOCATION AND DIVINE PRESENCE
“And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said, Where art thou?” — Gen 3:9
This was not a geographical question.
It was a spiritual audit.
1. They were out of the place of obedience
Sin relocates a man internally before it relocates him physically.
2. They lost the covering of the presence
Before disobedience — location: in the presence of God
After disobedience — location: hiding among trees
You are either:
-
In His presence, covered
-
Out of His presence, exposed
3. Every dislocation begins with disobedience
God asked, “Who told you…?”
Meaning: What voice relocated you?
The wrong voice is the beginning of the wrong place.
LESSONS FROM GENESIS 3
-
You cannot be right with God and be wrongly positioned.
-
When you exit your divine location, you enter unnecessary struggles.
-
Every divine blessing is tied to a divine place.
-
Divine presence is the highest location in destiny.
PART 2: 1 SAMUEL 9:2–27 — LOCATION AND DESTINY DISCOVERY
This story is one of the most powerful illustrations of location in Scripture.
1. Saul left home looking for donkeys
He was not looking for a throne.
He was not looking for a prophet.
He was not looking for an anointing.
But he entered the right location.
2. Saul met the right person (Samuel) in the right place (the city of Ramah)
Destiny is not only what you look for —
Destiny is what you meet by alignment.
3. The servant directed Saul
It was the servant who suggested:
“There is a man of God in this city…”
Sometimes your destiny is tied to a humble voice around you.
4. Samuel told Saul: “Set yourself apart… come up with me”
Right location requires:
5. Saul was shifted from obscurity to royalty
All because he was where he needed to be.
LESSONS FROM 1 SAMUEL 9
-
Right location connects you to the right people.
-
Right location exposes you to destiny instructions.
-
Right location can turn ordinary errands into extraordinary encounters.
-
Sometimes the journey you complain about is taking you to your throne.
PART 3: LUKE 19:1–5 — LOCATION AND ENCOUNTER WITH CHRIST
“And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him…”
“Jesus… looked up and saw him…”
1. Zacchaeus positioned himself intentionally
He didn’t fold his hands.
He didn’t stand in the crowd.
He moved.
He ran.
He climbed.
The right location is sometimes created by determination.
2. Jesus SAW him
This is profound.
Thousands surrounded Jesus, yet He saw only one man on a tree.
Visibility is a product of placement.
3. Jesus called him by name
Supernatural identification happens in the right location.
4. Jesus visited his house
Right location brings divine visitation.
5. Salvation entered his household
Location affects family destiny.
LESSONS FROM LUKE 19
-
Right location requires sacrifice and movement.
-
The place of effort becomes the place of encounter.
-
The right location makes you visible to grace.
-
Right location attracts divine attention.
-
Right location invites salvation and transformation.
THEOLOGICAL TRUTHS ON LOCATION
God never blesses confusion;
He blesses positioning.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF THE POWER OF LOCATION
-
Abraham — “Go to the land I will show you.”
-
Elijah — “Go to the brook Cherith… I have commanded the ravens.”
-
The upper room — place of the Holy Ghost outpouring.
TWO SHORT ILLUSTRATIONS
Illustration 1: The Eagle and the Low Ground
An eagle once nested among chickens.
It ate like them, walked like them, feared like them.
One day it heard the sound of other eagles above.
It stretched its wings and discovered it had been in the wrong place.
Lesson: Wrong locations suppress abilities. Right locations awaken potential.
Illustration 2: The Lost Wallet and the Right Table
A man lost his wallet. He searched everywhere except the one table where he had actually kept it.
He became frustrated, anxious, and exhausted—until he finally returned to the right spot.
Lesson: When you stop searching everywhere and return to where God positioned you, what you’re looking for will be waiting for you.
HOW TO DISCERN YOUR RIGHT LOCATION
-
Peace of God — not absence of challenges but inner assurance.
-
Prophetic alignment — God has spoken about it.
-
Purpose fulfillment — your gifts work there.
-
Fruitfulness — you grow there, not shrink.
-
Mentorship/pastoral covering — God plants people under spiritual authority.
-
Divine connections — destiny helpers appear there.
-
Obedience — it is where God told you to be.
WHAT THE WRONG LOCATION PRODUCES
-
Delay
-
Confusion
-
Wasted years
-
Wrong relationships
-
Missed opportunities
Adam’s story is a warning:
Being in a wrong place can make you lose what God gave you.
WHAT THE RIGHT LOCATION PRODUCES
-
Visibility
Zacchaeus is proof:
One strategic position can rewrite a lifetime.
CALL TO REPENTANCE / ALTAR CALL
Beloved, like Adam, many have wandered:
-
Away from God
-
Away from purpose
-
Away from their spiritual covering
-
Away from destiny relationships
But the Father still asks today:
“Where are you?”
You may be misplaced, but you are not forsaken.
Today, return to:
-
The place of prayer
Let Him restore, reposition, and revive you.
